Timber Frame Homes

Interhabs Limited are a Canadian company based in Halifax, Nova Scotia which has been supplying pre-engineered homes and commercial buildings to many parts of the world including the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Korea, Argentina, Chile, The Netherlands and of course throughout Canada since 1975

In Canada extremes of climate and geography have driven research and innovation in design and construction technology and Canadians have a proven history of building homes that are exciting, energy efficient, durable healthy and affordable. The Super E program is the culmination of this research. Interhabs have been at the forefront of this technology and are the builders of the first Super E houses in both Ireland and Scotland.

Interhabs Ireland, based in Tuam, County Galway, represent Interhabs Limited in Ireland and have built numerous Super E houses throughout Ireland, and currently have an Interhabs/Super E village under construction in County Mayo.

Interhabs Ireland are now building Canadian timber frame houses in Ireland with superior standards for comfortable, healthy modern living with sustainable energy efficient construction methods and designs to suit everyone.

The Canadian Super-E programme was launched in Ireland a year ago though Interhabs have been building houses here for 4 years. In advance of the EU's Directive on Energy Labelling for all new houses the Canadian Super-E Specification exceeds the minimum standards of the Irish Building Regulations. Interhabs can achieve these standards with competitive construction costs.

An Interhabs house will achieve a high energy rating when Energy Labelling is implemented in 2006 due to its high levels of insulation, high performance windows, its airtightness specification and testing and its whole house ventilation system with heat recovery.
