To further ensure a building has effective and consistent insulative quality and is sealed to design specifications, PK Energy Controls Ltd can provide testing with documented reports to accurately reflect the condition of the building with respect to air tightness and insulative consistency after the construction phase.

What is air tightness?

Air tightness which is sometimes referred to as air leakage is a measure of the amount of air that can infiltrate or exfiltrate a building when under a test reference pressure through unintended channels.

Air infiltration and exfiltration through unintended channels means that the internal conditioned air or in most cases heated air escapes out of the building and is wasted. All buildings require a specified amount of ventilation which is incorporated into testing. What is measured is the excess infiltration / exfiltration that causes increased energy costs, emissions and possible discomfort to the occupier. In other terms, its a method to identify where the cash is leaking out of your building.
