St. Patrick's National School was originally established by The Irish Christian Brothers who came to Tuam at the invitation of Archbishop John MacHale in 1851. The present school was built in 1941 and extended and modernised in the 1980's. Number of Staff: 15 Number of Students: 170. Subjects : Irish, English, Maths, History, Geography, Social & Environmental Studies, Science, Art & Craft, Music, S.P.H.E. (Social Personal & Health Education), Physical Education, I.T. (Integrated Technology, computers etc.,) Religious Education, Spanish. This School is situated on Dublin Road. Access is from the Dublin Road only and parking facilities are limited as the area is currently subject to a new traffic flow experiment which may become permanent. |
