Emer Lavin is a former Solicitor who decided to leave the law and set up a Life Coaching practise in 2005. This is a confidential service based in an office in the Irish Wheelchair Association Building, Purcell/Stockwell Road, Tuam. Parking is readily available.

Emer provides encouragement and support for you to examine your life, explore your personal values and discover what is really important to you. This awareness will help you in every aspect of your life, from taking decisions to being more confident and clear about the direction you are moving in.

All that is required is honesty and a willingness to look at yourself as others may see you. Unlike counselling, the emphasis is not on looking to the past, rather on setting goals for the future.

So if you feel that something is missing from your life why not make an appointment with Emer and spend some time figuring out how best to invest in yourself and move forward.

WHAT IS LIFE COACHING?
Life Coaching is a one-on-one interactive relationship based upon confidentiality and mutual respect where the Coach (a skilled listener) prompts you to focus on real issues and encourages understanding and self awareness. Life Coaching is an ongoing process based upon open communication and is a means of exploring choices and gaining new perspective in a safe environment.

What does Life Coaching do?
Life Coaching offers you the time, space and encouragement to focus on yourself, what your problems really are, and what you would like to achieve. This process facilitates the possibility of real change in your life such as increased confidence, improved ability to communicate, and better relationships.
A Life Coach does not provide the answers, as only you know what changes you need to make. Coaching encourages you to figure things out for yourself with a view to leaving the past behind and moving towards a more fulfilled life.

ABOUT EMER
I am married with two daughter and have lived in Tuam, Co Galway since 2000.

Training
I completed a Diploma in Business Executive and Personal Coaching at the Western Management Centre in Galway in June 2005.

Coaching Skills
I coach people from all different backgrounds. I am a skilled listener with the ability to be clear and concise. I understand that it may be difficult for you to make changes that will lead to a more fulfilled life. I offer encouragement and support to help you achieve your goals.

Academic Background
I graduated in Law from University College Dublin in 1993 and practised as a solicitor for ten years. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Human Rights Law from Queens University Belfast in December 2000.
